As the summer comes to an end and September starts so does another school year.  You may be heading back to school, have children going back or even if you’re a teacher, We want to ensure that we pray for you. So this episode is dedicated to those who are going back to school this fall. Click below to listen.

Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful. – John 14:27

The end result of the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives is deep and lasting peace.  Unlike worldly peace, with Christ’s peace, we have no need to fear the present or future.  Pray over your kids that they will know the Holy Spirits lasting peace as they go back to school.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go. – Joshua 1:9

You can pray for your kids according to this scripture:

  1. They should be strong and courageous because the work they will do this school year will be challenging.
  2. Teach your kids to obey Gods laws so that they will not give in to peer pressure.
  3. Train your kids to regularly read and study the work of God.

You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unprincipled men and fall from your own steadfastness, but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.  – 2 Peter 3:17-18

As parents you have to ensure that you teach your kids to grow in the grace and knowledge of God. We need to teach out kids why we all need to know Christ better and better every day.  This is the only way to refute false teaching from people who have evil agendas that are contrary to Gods word.  No matter where your kids are in their spiritual journey the sinful world will challenge their faith. So every day we need to pray for our kids that they will draw closer to Jesus.

Your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right or to the left. – Isaiah 30:21

The prayer for your kids should be that as they take steps of faith at school that they will hear Gods voice directing them and confirming what they should do.

Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe. – 1 Timothy 4:12

Whether your kids are in grade school, high school or university, pray that they will not think of their age as a handicap.  Your kids should live their lives so that others can see Christ in them.

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. – 2 Timothy 2:15

One of the most important aspects of teaching your children about God is showing them how to apply the Word of God in every situation in life.   When parents do this, children will not be persuaded by deceitful arguments or debates by professors that do not follow Christ.

For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. – 2 Timothy 4:3-4

They may be people in the schools that your children go to that will teach a falsehood that people may want to hear.   It’s not about what is acceptable by society’s standards that is right but what is acceptable by Gods standards.

Do not forsake her, and she will guard you; love her, and she will watch over you. The beginning of wisdom is: Acquire wisdom; and with all your acquiring, get understanding. – Proverbs 4:6-7

Wisdom is applying the word of God in your life.  Pray that your children will know how to apply Gods word in every situation that you can find themselves in so that they do not follow the crowd or fall into sin.

So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith. – Galatians 6:102

Pray over your children that they will treat their schoolmates and teachers well.  That they will be kind and always be willing to lend a helping hand to other.

The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall. – Psalms 27:1-2

This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the Lord. –  Isaiah 54:17

Trust God that He will keep your children safe as they go to school everyday.  With incidents happening so often in schools across America, we need to always remember to pray for safety for our children, their classmates and teachers.   Pray and declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper.
