The bible says that God is patient towards you and does not want you to perish but to change your heart and come to repentance. Whether you are not saved, a loved one or a friend, God wants to be in relationship with him and the only way to do that is through the blood of His son Jesus and accepting His sacrifice for us. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16
God sets the pattern of true love in this verse. When someone loves you dearly, they are willing to give up freely to the point of self-sacrifice. If you are saved or praying for the salvation of someone else, pray that they will come to the realization and understand that God loves them enough to sacrifice all that He had in His only son just for them.
That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your Heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness and with the mouth confesses, resulting in salvation. – Romans 10:9-10
Salvation is as close as your mouth and heart and is available at any moment. People think it must be a complicated process, but it is now. If we believe with our hearts and say with our mouths that Christ is the risen Lord, we will be saved.
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by his grace through the redemption which is in Chris Jesus, – Romans 3:23-24
There are no levels to sin. Sin is sin and it all falls short of the mark for a Holy God. All sins makes us sinners and this disqualifies us from eternal life. BUT, these verses are saying that we have been justified (to be declared not guilty and our record wiped clean) and redeemed refers to not having to pay for penalty for our sins. Christ purchased our freedom.
For He says, “At the acceptable time I listened to you, and on the day of salvation I helped you.” Behold, now is the acceptable time, behold, now is the day of salvation. – 2 Corinthians 6:2
God offers salvation to all people. Many people put off a decision for Christ, thinking that there will be a better time but they could easily miss their opportunity altogether. There is no time like the present to receive God’s forgiveness. Don’t let anything hold you back from coming to Christ.
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and not of yourself, it is the gift of God. – Ephesians 2:8
When someone gives you a gift you don’t say, “that was nice and how much do I owe you?” Instead you respond with thanks and appreciate the gift as it is given in its fullness. Some people often think that we need to work for our salvation or that we have to pay back God for this gift that he gave us. But that’s not the case. We just need to accept God’s free gift of salvation.
And the one on whom seeds was sown on the good soil, this is the man who hears the word and understands it; who indeed it bears fruit and brings forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty. – Matthew 13:23
The types of soil mentioned in this parable represents the different types of responses to Gods message. People respond differently because they are in different states of readiness. Some are hardened, others are shallow, others are contaminated but distracting worries and some are receptive. Pray that your loved ones will have receptive hearts to receive the message of Gods salvation.
Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture he preached Jesus to him. As they went along the road they came to some water, and the eunuch said “Look! Water! What prevents me from being baptized?” – Acts 8:35-36
We need to be prepared to preach the gospel of Jesus Chris at any moment just as Philip was ready in this situation. Our prayer should be for God to lead those to us who are ready to receive salvation and we should trust the Holy Spirit when our paths cross.
So Ananias departed and entered the house, and after lying his hands on him said “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road by which you were coming, has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit. And immediately there fell from his eyes something like scales, and he regained his sight and he got up and was baptized. – Acts 9:17-18
Ananias found Saul as he had been instructed by the Lord in a vision. Ananias was given very specific instructions with regards to finding Saul. In the same way, when God puts someone on your heart you can expect that God will give you the instructions on what to say and do and when to do it. Follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest. – Matthew 9:37-38
Many people are ready to give their lives to Christ if someone would show them how. Jesus commands us to pray that people will respond to this need for workers. If you are praying for loved ones to come to know Christ, pray this prayer. Also, as you pray expect God to use you to help someone else come to know Christ.
He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him – 2 Corinthians 5:21
When we trust Christ, we make an exchange, our sin for his righteousness. Our sins was poured into Christ at his crucifixion and his righteousness is poured into us at our conversion.
