Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. – Philippians 2:9-11
All people are to recognize and bow down to the name of Jesus. And it’s in His name that the spiritual forces have to bow down as well. For this reason we have victory over them and we can exercise this authority we have over them.
The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.” He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. – Luke 10:17-19
This is just a demonstration that when Jesus sends us out he gives us power to do his will. We have the authority over wicked spirits and power to speak the Word of God over any situation in Jesus name.
In the very same way, on the strength of their dreams these ungodly people pollute their own bodies, reject authority and heap abuse on celestial beings. But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not himself dare to condemn him for slander but said, “The Lord rebuke you!” – Jude 1:8-9
This verse is important to me because it reminds me that I don’t need to do much to walk in Gods authority everyday. Jesus has already done the work for us to live in victory and we just need to walk in it. The next time the enemy tries to get after you, go into your prayer closet and just confess the victory you already have over the enemy.
I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. – Romans 8:18-19
All of nature is waiting for the children of God to rise up in our God given authority and dominate this world for the kingdom of God. The Glory that will be seen at that time will be great but we need to know our authority first and walk in that power every day. Put this verse in your heart as a reminder that all creation is waiting for you to rise up.
And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. – Ephesians 2:6-7
We need to see ourselves seated with Christ. Just as he has all authority and power, we too have authority and power over everything that can come against us in this world. We are forever found in him and have the right to rule with authority and power like Jesus.
Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.” Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’” – Matthew 4:8-10 NIV
In this passage, Jesus showed us how to defeat the devil. We can walk in victory by speaking the word of God. The word of God has power to deliver us from any trap or temptation of the devil. We need to first have it in our heart in order to confess it when we need it. But when we release the word of God against our circumstances, we will win!!
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 8:37-39
With Gods Devine love working in our favour, we don’t just get by, we conquer every situation that tries to pull us down. This is the mindset that we need to have because of Gods live for us.
For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete. – 2 Corinthians 10:3-6
Strongholds are fortified negative thoughts that keep us bound in bad ways of thinking and living. We have victory over these strongholds through the power of the Word of God and with our complete obedience to His Word.
