Romans Road to Salvation - Daily Devotional

Today we are talking about the Roman’s road to salvation. If your listening to this episode when I released it we just celebrated the resurrection of Jesus and all that he has done for us when he went to the cross for us. The Roman’s road for salvation is a very easy way to understand how each one of us needs Jesus and what God did for us so that we can be reconciled back onto him. This can also be used as a roadmap when speaking to others who have not accepted Jesus.

Episode Notes & Bible Verses

Our Human Condition

As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one; – Romans‬ ‭3‬:‭10

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, – Romans‬ ‭3‬:‭23‬

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans‬ ‭6‬:‭23

The first part of the Romans Road confirms our human condition as sinful and that God is holy. Then in Romans 6:23 it mentions the penalty for our sins which is death and eternal separation from God. However, This verse also gives us hope that we can be saved in Jesus.

Our Hope in Jesus

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. – Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬‬

The second part of the Romans Road further explains the hope we have in the love of God expressed through Christ. It’s as if God is saying to sinners that He knows that you are rebelling against him but He still loves you so much that He’ll sent his only son to die for you in hopes that one day You’ll accept this free gift.

The Sinners Response

that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. – Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭9‬-‭10

For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” – Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭13

Once we understand our need for a savior and recognize that Jesus Christ is that savior, we can respond by repenting and calling out to Jesus to save us. Once a person believes in his heart and confesses with his mouth that Jesus is lord, then he is saved! Verse 13 solidifies this in saying that everyone who calls out to the Lord will be saved.

The Result of Salvation

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. – Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭1‬-‭2‬‬

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. – Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭1‬‬

Previously we were separated from God due to our sins but through faith in Jesus, we are drawn close and have peace with God. There is no more hostility between God and is because of sin. We actually stand in a place of highest privilege. Not only are we drawn close but we are called children of God. When you become a believer in Jesus, it doesn’t matter what your emotions tell you otherwise. Or what memories of the past try to come back into your mind to condemn you. God says you are forgiven and can stand before him with zero condemnation!!

If you listened to this episode and want to stand before God with no condemnation and knowing that there is nothing that separates you from him then you can repeat this prayer of salvation after me.

“God, I know that I am a sinner and that the wages of sin are death. I believe that you sent your Son, Jesus Christ, as a payment for my punishment. I declare that Jesus is my Lord and profess my faith for salvation through the death and resurrection of Jesus. Thank you for your grace, forgiveness, peace, and gift of eternal life. Amen!”

If you said that after me and believed it them you are saved!!

Next steps is to find a church where you can be baptized, learn and grow in the things of God.
