Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. – 1 Corinthians 15:58
This is one of my life verses because it encourages me to continue to be faithful in serving. Whatever ministry that you serve in remember God sees the work that you are doing for his kingdom and your work always bears good fruit for the kingdom of God.
But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. – 1 Corinthians 15:10
This verse speaks about Gods grace towards us. It’s by his grace that we are saved and our past is covered by the blood of Jesus. It’s also by his grace that are empowered to serve God as we provide our effort. And any results that we hope to achieve in the future are all because of his empowering grace towards us.
Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” – Isaiah 30:21
This is one of my life verses because one of the most important things that we all need is Gods guidance. Both in our daily day to day lives and when we are making big decisions. This verse is applied by seeking God and stepping out by faith on how we believe God is leading us. It’s as we take the first step that God confirms our path.
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. – Galatians 6:9-10
We are encouraged by this verse to serve and do good to others. We should always strive to do good to others especially other believers. This verse gives a promise that we would reap a harvest if we do not give up. It encourages me to continue to be faithful to serve others around me.
To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy— to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen. – Jude 1:24-25
This verse just gives joy to my heart every time I read it. It really puts into the proper perspective all the Jesus did for us and that he’s the only one who could’ve done anything to save us. Hallelujah!!!
His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ – Matthew 25:21
This is from the passage of scripture that speaks about the talents given out to the three servants. I’ve meditated on these verse for years because I thought of myself as the servant who had one talent. But instead of burring that talent I worked on developing it and growing it. Now I have plenty of ability to serve God in many different ways.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. – Ephesians 2:8-10
This verse speaks about Gods wonderful plan for our lives that he knew even before we were born. It’s through His Grace that we are saved and not through anything that we can do or ever do. This removes the pressure to perform or “be good enough”. Because that mark can never be reached. This verse fills my heart with praise because we see all that God done for us even before we were born and this is a demonstration of his amazing love for us.
Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request. – 1 Chronicles 4:10
This simple verse is powerful because the Bible doesn’t mention Jabez in many other places. It teaches us a simple prayer that Jabez prayed and that God heard his prayer and granted his request. It reminds me that God only wants to hear your heart when you come to him in prayer. You don’t need fancy words or pray for hours. Just bring your heart to him.
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn. – Isaiah 60:1-3
I remember this verse was preached in a church service very recently after I have my life to Christ. God showed me that I need to arise from out of the mess that was going on around me and let the light of God shine through me. Those who are stuck in sin remain in darkness but God light would rise on me. And when that happens, God will allow his favour to rest on me so that Kings (people with influence) will deal with me favourably.
