Authority over your health

Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well. – 3 John 1:2 NIV

A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. – Proverbs 17:22

Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones. – Proverbs 3:7-8

God can and is able to heal you. We can stand on his promises of healing when we are sick or injured. More than that, God wants you to walk in divine health. That’s keeping you from getting sick in the first place. That’s where 3 John 1:2 comes in. As you feed your soul (which is your mind, will, emotions and intellect) the word of God it will cause you to continually be healthy and fight off sickness.

Authority over your home

But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” – Joshua 24:15 NIV

The ark of the Lord remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite for three months, and the Lord blessed him and his entire household. – 2 Samuel 6:11 NIV

This year we are to make a stand on which side we want our family to be on. We can not be on the fence between the world and the word. The head of the family has this responsibility to lead the family and cultivate Gods presence in the household. We then see in 2 Samuel 6 the blessing that follows Gods presence. While the ark of the covenant was in Obed-Edom’s house his entire household was blessed. And the word household doesn’t just mean his physical home. It means everything that belongs to him. Everything that has his name on it. To us today our household would mean our homes, transportation, businesses, bank accounts and investment etc. Everything with your name on it.

Authority over your family

Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in obedience to him. You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours. Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table. Yes, this will be the blessing for the man who fears the Lord. – Psalms 128:1-4

“Praise the Lord. Blessed are those who fear the Lord, who find great delight in his commands. Their children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches are in their houses, and their righteousness endures forever. – Psalms 112:1-3

This one is for the heads of the home. So I’m speaking to the men here. But I know that some mothers have this responsibility. As you walk in obedience to the Lord, you will see Gods blessing on your work and food. Husbands, your wife will prosper and be fruitful and your children will grow strong in the Lord as you mentor them in the ways of the Lord. As your children grow up they will be mighty and do great things for God.

Authority over your finances

Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine. – Proverbs 3:9-10

But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today. – Deuteronomy 8:18

The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, without painful toil for it. – Proverbs 10:22

As we give and walk in Gods principles concerning giving, we will see the blessings that follow. We restrict the flow of Gods financial blessing in our lives when we withhold giving financially. Remember that money is only a tool that can be used for good. Remember to give into Gods kingdom. Your tithes and offering to God’s church should not be a debate. It blesses you to give more. God will them bless you will wealth without trouble or painful work to get it. Your financiers have no choice but to grow because you are following Gods word.

Authority over you work/job/business

May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands. – Psalms 90:17

Those who work their land will have abundant food, but those who chase fantasies have no sense. – Proverbs 12:11

Ship your grain across the sea; after many days you may receive a return. Invest in seven ventures, yes, in eight; you do not know what disaster may come upon the land. If clouds are full of water, they pour rain on the earth. Whether a tree falls to the south or to the north, in the place where it falls, there it will lie. Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap. – Ecclesiastes 11:1-4

It is right to work or have a business. God wants to bless what you do for work this year. As you put a plan together for your business and follow it this year, Pray this verse over yourself and believe that God will establish the works of your hands. Take risk this year by the leading of the Holy Spirit. Invest and believe God for a good return and trust God that you will be able to have multiple streams of income.

Authority over your future

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. – Jeremiah 29:11

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. – John 10:10

God has good things in store for you. Don’t believe the lie that God wants to cause problems, trouble or cause you to sin. No! God wants you to have an abundant life and enjoy life as you walk in line with his Word. God doesn’t want to harm you but bless you. It’s the enemy that wants to steel kill or destroy your future. Gods wants us to have abundant life.

Authority over our witness to others

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:14-16

He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. – Luke 10:2

God is calling us to go out every day and lead others to His love. We are to be light when we go to work, when we go to the store and in our neighborhoods. When we are the lights in these areas, then we have a better opportunity to share the gospel of Jesus with those around us who are lost. The harvest fields are right around us. As soon as we step out of our front doors we have an opportunity to share Jesus to others. Keep your eyes open and pray that God would prepare you for the opportunity to share Jesus to others when the time comes.
