It’s a day and new year. Let this moment be a defining moment in your life when everything changes. The first thing that we need to do today is give thanks. Thank God for allowing you to see another day. There are a lot of people who did not make it to 2022. Some people who were here yesterday are not here today. But you are. Let’s thank God for everything that he has done in our lives so far. He has provided for you. You have food clothes and cloths on your back God has been faithful. Anything else above that is an abundant blessing. If you are listening to this that means you have access to the internet and a smart device that plays podcast or MP3s. God provided that for you. He is exalted on high. Let us magnify his name together!!
(Psalms 118:24, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, Matthew 6:25-34, 2 Peter 1:3, Psalm 34:3)
We praise God for our saviour Jesus. It’s through him we have access to God and can have this marvellous relationship that we do. Not only that, our past mistakes and disobedience is all erased!!! ITS GONE!!! And we appear to God as if we have never sinned. All because of Jesus. Let’s thank God for that.
(Acts 17:28, Hebrews 8:12, Ephesians 2:18, Ephesians 1:5)
As we start this new year remember to be grateful and have an attitude of thanksgiving. Yes there could be so much more that we want but we already have too much to complain about what we don’t have. There are people in the world that have less that what you and I have and are happy and content with their lives because they know that it all comes from God and their relationship with God is most important. Most people in North America and other developed places in the world have closets full of clothes, houses full of furniture car (some people have more than one). They have a job that pays them good money. And l we don’t have to worry where our next meal is going to come from because we can just open the fridge. I’m saying all this to say that most of us already have the abundant life that Jesus promises to give us in John 10:10.
(Philippians 2:14-15, 1 Timothy 6:6-10, John 10:10)
Let’s then make sure that we have the correct focus going into every day in 2022. There are people who are lost and are being oppressed and persecuted by the enemy. Some people don’t even know who Jesus is or what he did for them. It’s our responsibility to share that good news. Let’s pray and ask God to send us into the harvest fields. Let’s believe that God will equip and send us out onto the kingdoms of this world as ambassadors of His kingdom foe the sole purpose to help others to get to know Him. If you pray this earnestly He will answer that prayer.
(Matthew 6:33, Matthew 9:35-38)
If you’re wondering how God will do this, I’ll get to it in a second. But first I want to address the fire that he placed on your heart. Right now that fire might be kind of dim. The world may have caused you to give up on the dream that he game you. But I’m here to tell you not to give up on God because he won’t give up on you! That song by Darwin Hobbs encourages me. It’s called He’s able. He placed desires and passions in your heart. For me, I like cars. You may like dancing, cooking or building houses. Whatever that desire that’s in your heart. God put it there. You may ask why would God give me a desire to do something like modify cars or cooking or architecture? Well because he wants to send you into that field to witness to the lost that are there. You may be the only Christian that could save that lost person who works as a tech developer or a chef in a restaurant.
(Psalms 37:4, Matthew 7:7-12, Proverbs 19:8, Ephesians 3:20, Matthew 5:13-16)
So don’t give up on the desires that God gave you. Use what you have in you to make something great happen today. Work that desire in your heart. Seek how you can get to the next level in your area of passion or expertise. God wants to use you in that area to win the lost. Our goal shouldn’t be to earn a lot of money or fame but it should be to win the lost and be a good witness for Jesus. And if our hearts are right and humble He will trust us enough to send us and lift us up so that we can bring glory to his name and win the lost.
(1 Corinthians 15:58, 1 Peter 5:6, James 4:10)
This year, let’s not allow the devil to beat out dream or the passion that we had out of us. The devil will cause circumstances to try and cause us to lose our faith, loose our vision and complained about our situation. Instead I’m here to tell you that we need to remember to give thanks and hold on to our faith and the vision that God gave us. And Yes. It will be very difficult for some people. There may be challenges that some of us will face this year that will test us. But it’s just that. A test. God will allow the pressure to be placed on us to see how we will react. God already knows but he wants us to see how we will react. So when the test comes, pass the test.
(1 Corinthians 10:13, Job 42:1-2)
Today is a new opportunity to do something great. God give us everything that we need today to make it. Just like he provided manna to his people when they left Egypt. So don’t look at your situation and think “I can’t do this or that because I’m insufficient”. We have an all sufficient God who is able to provide you everything you need in this life to complete what he called you to do. God also provides mercies which are new every morning for forget about your past mistakes and keep moving forward. There are people in this world that work in our industries that you specialize in. And you may be the only that can reach them.
(Psalms 118:24-25, 2 Peter 1:3, 2 Corinthians 12:9, Lamentations 3:22-23, Matthew 9:35-38)
Keep praying for that house or that car or that frivolous blessing that you desire. But remember that there has to be a redemptive purpose for you having it. It’s to win the lost and bring Glory to God. God blessings are always cause you to grow, will be a blessing to others and bring Glory to God. Don’t let the devil push you around anymore. The Bible says the kingdom of God suffers violence and violent men lay hold of it.
(Hebrews 11:1-6, Matthew 5:13-16, Proverbs 22:29, Proverbs 19:8, Matthew 10:9, Matthew 11:12)
