The bible is in perfect alignment with itself.

There were so many opportunities for the bible to have a mistake or be misaligned with other parts of scripture.

The Bible was written in three languages

Those languages are Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. Most of the Old Testament was written in Hebrew, which was the language the original readers spoke. A few parts of the Old Testament was written Aramaic. The New Testament was written in Greek, the commonly-spoken language of the time.

This is significant because in just translation to English there is huge possibilities for the meaning of the scriptures to contradict each other but when studies out every prophecy and every word is in perfect alignment with each other.

The Bible was written by more than 40 authors

Imagine for example 10 people decide to write a book with no person overseeing what was written. It would probably have parts that are not accurate and not aligned with other parts. But consider that the bible has more than 40 authors and there was not human person who organized and coordinated the writing of the bible between each person. The only answer that I can give to support this amazing feat is that the bible was orchestrated by the leading of the Holy Spirit. This bring me to my next point.

The Bible was written over the span of at least 1500 years.

According to historical studies, the oldest book written in the bible was the book of Job aprox. 2000-1800 BC. The last book of the bible is the book of Revelations written in 96AD. Just to put this in proper contest. 1500 years from today was in the year 521!! So with this point, consider that each book of the bible is in perfect alignment with other books in it. And also keep in mind that this is without the help of a human person coordinating putting the bible together.

The Bible was written by people from diverse occupational backgrounds

It’s important to remember that the Bible is a collection of writings. No one sat down and said, “Let’s write the Bible from start to finish.” The scrolls that make up the books of the Bible were written by more than 40 authors and accumulated over a thousand years. Parts of the Bible were written by kings. Half of the Psalms, most of Proverbs, and Ecclesiastes were written by King David and King Solomon. But other parts of the Bible are written by farmers, fishermen, a tent maker, prophets, a doctor, a scribe, musicians, pastors, etc.

The point I’m making here is that there are so many different backgrounds that the authors of the Bible come from and their education level did not affect their ability to be lead by the Holy Spirit in writing the different books of the bible.

This is the question to consider on this point. If the bible was fake or made up by a person, how could he have gotten at least 40 other people to write something that is in such alignment and accurate with every part? I believe the answer is it is not possible for a man to orchestrate this but I have to conclude that this was the work of God working through men that were devoted to Him.

Now with that as a foundation we can look at some prophesies that were fulfilled and since the central person of Christianity is Jesus, let’s look at all the prophecies concerning his birth.

Prophecy about Jesus birth fulfilled

Jesus birth Location

Prophecy – “The Lord says, ‘Bethlehem, you might not be an important town in the nation of Judah. But out of you will come a ruler over Israel for me. His family line goes back to the early years of your nation.  It goes all the way back to days of long ago’” (Micah 5:2).

Fulfillment – Christ was born in Bethlehem just as the prophecy foretold.

“After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem” (Matthew 2:10).

A Star Would Point the Way Towards Christ

Prophecy – “I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near; A star shall come forth from Jacob, and a scepter shall rise from Israel, and shall crush through the forehead of Moab, and tear down all the sons of Sheth” (Numbers 24:17).

Fulfillment – God places the star in the sky to lead the magi to Christ, that they might worship Him.

“Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east, and have come to worship Him” (Matthew 2:1-2).

Genealogy of Christ

Prophecy – Jesus was from the line of Abraham (Genesis 12:3), Isaac (Genesis 17:21, Genesis 26:4), Jacob (Genesis 28:14), Judah (Genesis 49:8–12), Jesse (Isaiah 11:1), and David (Isaiah 9:7, Jeremiah 23:5).

Fulfillment – We see the entire fulfillment of Christ’s line of genealogy through Matthew 1:1-17 and Luke 1.

Given all the the criteria about when and who the bible was written consider the prophesies I just went over that are in perfect alignment with each other if you are honest with yourself you have to agree that the Bible was a divinely inspired book with real facts that happened long ago. We can trust it’s promises and stand on its word. We shouldn’t question any part of it but study all of it so that we can learn and grow closer to God.

It is impossible for an unborn Jesus to manipulate all the these circumstances prophesied about his birth except God doing the impossible in order to fulfill prophesies and bring his son and our saviour to the earth.

If you were doubting the truth written in the bible I hope this episode opened your eyes. You can accept Jesus into your life right now very simple by repeating after me.

Salvation Prayer

“Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again.  I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
