Episode Notes & Bible Verses

Of Issachar, men who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, 200 chiefs, and all their kinsmen under their command. – 1 Chronicles 12:32

It is God that can speak to your hearts to direct your business.  He will cause you to be a success if you follow His leading.   Our responsibility is to learn and understand what is going on in the world around us so that we can know how we are to proceed.

The simple believes everything, but the prudent gives thought to his steps. – Proverbs 14:15:

Carefully analyze your decisions to make sure that you have considered all options before proceeding.  Most bad decisions have consequences that take long to undo.  In business you need to be very analytical to scrutinize all your decisions and account for as many scenarios that could possible happen.

Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed. – Proverbs 15:22

Ask God to send you wise counsel that will give you honest feedback and help you become a success. If you do it by yourself without any input you are likely to fail. We all need mentors if we expect to be successful.

Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will be established. – Proverbs 16:3

Invite God into your business plan.  Rely on him to give you an advantage against your competitors. Also include how your business will give God glory and advance his Kingdom.  If you didn’t do this before you started your business you can do it now.  Honor God and he will honor you.

The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps. – Proverbs 16:9

The first step is always on us but as you step out to do the work to start and grow your business, expect and listen out for God’s direction.  He will establish your steps as you listen for him.

Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand. – Proverbs 19:21

You might be like me and can see a business opportunity just about everywhere you go. Just remember that you should seek God to know what He has for you to do.  God has a perfect plan for your business and in seeking him, you will know what to do and what not to do.

Plans are established by counsel; by wise guidance wage war. – Proverbs 20:18

Ensure that you have business mentors that can give you good advise and feedback.  To go into business is to battle. You need to know that the people who are advising you are also praying for you and are there to support you when you need it.
