Episode Notes & Bible Verses

Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord [l]swept the sea back by a strong east wind all night and turned the sea into dry land, so the waters were divided. 22 The sons of Israel [m]went through the midst of the sea on the dry land, and the waters were like a wall to them on their right hand and on their left. – Exodus 14:21      -22

Close your eyes and picture this.  You’re walking on a pathway that is completely dry and a wall of water on both sides.  This is the God that we serve.  He can do things that defy natural laws of this world.

The Lord answered Moses, “Go out in front of the people. Take with you some of the elders of Israel and take in your hand the staff with which you struck the Nile, and go. I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb. Strike the rock, and water will come out of it for the people to drink.” So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel. – Exodus 17:5-7 (1-7 in context)

God worked through Moses to allow water to come out of the rock, and not just a trickle… There was enough so that everyone could get a drink… and we’re talking about all of the Israelites that left Egypt.  That’s a lot of people and a lot of water that God brought forth out of the rock.

So when the people broke camp to cross the Jordan, the priests carrying the ark of the covenant went ahead of them.  Now the Jordan is at flood stage all during harvest. Yet as soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water’s edge, the water from upstream stopped flowing. It piled up in a heap a great distance away, at a town called Adam in the vicinity of Zarethan, while the water flowing down to the Sea of the Arabah (that is, the Dead Sea) was completely cut off. So the people crossed over opposite Jericho.  The priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord stopped in the middle of the Jordan and stood on dry ground, while all Israel passed by until the whole nation had completed the crossing on dry ground. – Joshua 3:14 – 17

If it wasn’t enough the first time, God divides the river at flood stage again. This time with Joshua leading.  God is so patient to work with us because sometime we forget some of the amazing things that he has done in the past and He still desires to do them for us again.

When the trumpets sounded, the army shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city. – Joshua 6:20

How can trumpets and people shouting bring down a fortified wall?  Simple, With Gods amazing power to perform the impossible.  God is able to level every wall that is stopping you from entering into your promise.

On the day the Lord gave the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua said to the Lord in the presence of Israel:

“Sun, stand still over Gibeon,  and you, moon, over the Valley of Aijalon.” So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on[a] its enemies, as it is written in the Book of Jashar.

The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day. There has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the Lord listened to a human being. Surely the Lord was fighting for Israel! – Joshua 10:12 – 14

God favour was on Joshua, so much that God would give him more time that he needed to defeat the Amorites.  If you need an extension on an assignment or more time to get that Job done. Pray like Joshua did and allow God to make you more efficient with your time to get more done.

She left him and shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring. When all the jars were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another one.”  But he replied, “There is not a jar left.” Then the oil stopped flowing. – 2 King 4:5-6 (1-7 in context)

If you are in financial need, know that God is able to open your eyes to see the potential that is in your house so that you can prosper.  See this story of the Widow’s oil and how God kept a supernatural flow going so that they can pay off their debts and live off the rest.  God wants to bless you like this so that he gets the glory.

He said, “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.” – Daniel 3:24-25

So Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came out of the fire, 27 and the satraps, prefects, governors and royal advisers crowded around them. They saw that the fire had not harmed their bodies, nor was a hair of their heads singed; their robes were not scorched, and there was no smell of fire on them.

Daniel answered, “May the king live forever! My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, Your Majesty.” – Daniel 6:21-22 (16 – 22 in context)

May God send an angel that will shut the mouths of everything that will try to devour you.

The Lord said to Gideon, “With the three hundred men that lapped I will save you and give the Midianites into your hands. Let all the others go home.” – Joshua 7:7 (verse 1-15 in context)

You plus God equals a majority. It doesn’t matter how many people may be coming against you, God through his miraculous power is able to give you the victory even if it looks like you are greatly outnumbered.
