Increase Our Faith

Faith is at the core of living a successful Christian life.  But not faith in faith alone, but Faith in God.  The more you know about God, the more your faith will increase.  God has given us his word to help us increase what we know about him which in turn helps our faith increase.  This is why its important to read your bible. It builds faith.  And as the bible says in Romans 10:17, Faith comes by hearing, and hearing the word of God.  So today we are going to talk about increasing your faith.

Episode Notes & Bible Verses

Matthew 8:5-13

When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. 6 “Lord,” he said, “my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly.” Jesus said to him, “Shall I come and heal him?”  The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.  I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”  Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would.” And his servant was healed at that moment.

Remember that all that Jesus needs to do in your situation is speak the word.  Expect that when Jesus speaks life, healing, provision or whatever you need into your situation that it will get better.

Matthew 9:20-22

Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. She said to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.” Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” he said, “your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed at that moment

This woman said to herself that if she could press through and touch Jesus that she would be healed.  The same way you need to say this to yourself concerning your situation and for faith will make your situation right.  Continue to press through in prayer and stand on the Word of God.

Matthew 17:27 (24-27 in context)

But so that we may not cause offense, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours.”

God is able to provide for your needs in unconventional ways.  Prayer that he will show you where to look and what you should do.  You need will be met according to Gods will.

Mark 2:4

These men could not get near Jesus because of so many people. They made a hole in the roof of the house over where Jesus stood. Then they let down the bed with the sick man on it.

We all need friends like this.  Do you have friends that will encourage you and help you with you may be unable to believe as you should.   Find faith filled friends that will believe with you, pray with you and do what they have to so that you will receive your miracle.

Matthew 14:28-29 (22-33 in contest)

“Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”  “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.

Jesus is calling you out and the next step is yours.  Trust God.  If it is Jesus calling you, then He will give you the ability to walk on the water.  Keep your eyes on Him and do not get distracted by the waves.

John 6:11-13 (1-15 in context)

Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish.  When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.” So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten.

Jesus is able to take your little and multiply it so that you will be satisfied now and has more than enough to bless others.  When it’s all said and done, the blessing that Jesus is able to leave with you will have lasting results in your life.  Have faith in Jesus to use the little you have now to do much with it.

Deuteronomy 8:18

“But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.

Remind yourself frequently about how Good God has been in your live.  If you don’t have anyone to give your testimony to, speak your testimony to yourself.  Be encouraged by looking back and seeing all the times that God has come through for you.

John 11:43-44 (1-45 in context)

When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!”  The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face.

Remember that whatever you are going through, God wants to get glory out of the situation.  Even though you may be waiting longer than you thought like in this account of Lazarus, Jesus is still able to do it.  Have faith in God.

Mark 11:22-24

“And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

There is power in what you speak. If you believe and do not doubt in your heart you will have what you receive.

Ephesians 3:20

“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.”

Whatever you think God can do in your life, multiply in by infinity and that is your answer.  This is what this verse is saying.  But it’s all according to your faith that is at work in your heart
