New Year. Next Level – Spiritual Life

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” Psalm 19:1 NIV.

When you look into the sky on a clear day and see the white puffy clouds a way off in the distance the thought may come to your mind “wow! That cloud is far away” or “the sky is so enormous”.  Even when you consider space and how many light years the nearest star is from us… It’s mind blowing.  How big our universe is.  Now think about this.  God has no beginning or end. His knowledge is endless.  (Pause here and think about that).  This is the perspective that I want you to have when determining how to reach your next level spiritually.  In the bible Jesus said that he has come to give us life and life abundantly.  Abundantly cannot be quantified, so is like having a blank cheque.

God has some great plans for your life and that can all be accomplished through Jesus. As the bible says  ” I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.” You have to believe that whatever the calling on your life is, Jesus can empower you to reach it. If you are in a relationship with God you must believe that He has more for you.

Step 1: Know The True and Living God

In order to know God (or anyone) you must spend time with them. When you spend time with someone you can start to think like them.  You can only know how God is thinking is by studying his Word.  Most people just read the bible but don’t really understand what is really being communicated in that scripture.  What I am talking about is studying the scripture in context so that you can get a deeper understanding of what’s going with what you are reading. This is when real growth take place and it helps you learn who God is for yourself.

Step 2: Build a Relationship With Jesus Christ

Jesus came to earth to save us from our sins. What some people forget what that he was a person just like me and you and through his life he had trials and challenges that he overcame and in doing so least a strategy that we can follow for our own success.  Jesus said, “Greater works we shall do” and it’s through a relationship with Him that we are able to study the template that he used throughout his life.   He tonight many parables, and experiences many troubling situations.  Was hungry, in the middle of storms and confronted by enemies many times.  Every time he knew exactly what he needed to do.  Study the life of Jesus and build a relationship with Him.  It’s His power that comes on you to do great things for this new year.

Step 3: Be Intentional With your Ask

Know exactly what you want out of this year. If you plan to preach to 100 more people in your church this year be intentional and ask God to bring the harvest. A remember to also do the practical and prepare for it too.  If your ask is inline with Gods will for you, God will answer your prayer. Be convicted in your heart regarding what you are planning to do in your life to go deeper with God.  If you are a worship leader your ask may be to increase your vocal range.  Whatever it is be intentional.   Then you need to be practical and do the work to grow.  God will do his part and put his supernatural anointing of you your natural ability.

1 Corinthians 2:9 says “… What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” — the things God has prepared for those who love him.”  There is so much fulfillment and joy when you are pursuing the things of God and you know that you are on the right track.  When he is able to work through you is a new manifested way this year if will be a blessing to many and bless your heart.  Go make it happen.
