God’s Not Dead

“For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.” 2 Timothy‬ ‭4:3‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55:6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I strongly believe that most people know that there’s a higher being that is sovereign over this world. When times are good the world likes to go about their merry way and enjoy the ride. Then when something happens they decide to search for something greater. Just look when there is some tragedy or disaster in the world. People are going on to twitter and saying they are praying. Mentioning for God to help those affected. But how much of those people really have a relationship with the true and living God?

Now there is no way for me to know this for sure because I can’t see their heart. So I can’t judge their relationship with God but I can judge their action and their behavior. It’s only when they are in trouble that they want to call upon God. Now I am not condemning these people or saying that this is wrong. God wants you to call upon him in times of trouble. What I am saying is, why don’t you seek him in the good times and the not so good times? Why can’t he be the one you call in every situation?

What I think the issue with this is that people want to do their own thing to enjoy life according to their own pleasures. However, when a catastrophe hits they are quick to run to God for help. The main reason why I’m writing this to to let you know that God wants you to call on Him in the good times too. With God it’s all about relationship. He wants you to know Him and walk with Him all day… everyday.

Can we take our selfish pleasures and put them aside so that we can walk in unity with God? I strongly believe that God wants to keep us from hardships and turmoil. His Holy Spirit wants to guide us on to paths of righteousness for Gods own sake. God does not want any of you to perish but to have life and life abundantly.

God wants your heart. In the good times and bad times. When you on top of the mountain and when you’re in the valley. Don’t go plotting your own course according to your own desires and lust, trying to satisfy yourself. God knows you better that you do. And he has so much pleasures waiting for you if you would just listen to his direction on a daily basis. Start in the morning with devotion. This could be reading the bible, prayer and worship. Also remember to study and meditate on the scriptures. This simply means to think about what you’re reading. God will speak back to your heart and reveal what his will is for you. Be blessed to make it happen today.
