When I look at the working population in my home town (Toronto Can.) it’s quite interesting what I see. I see a lot of people working very hard in their chosen careers. I also see, people who have come from other countries who have come here for better opportunity for themselves and their families. I also see people who look like they were born here working and making a living for themselves. But to me, something is wrong with this picture. Can you see it?
This is only my opinion. I believe that people who were born here have such a big head start on everyone else that they should be the ones creating the companies, new innovative technology and providing opportunities for others who in other countries that come here for a better life. But what is happening is these people are taking the jobs that I believe are meant for individuals who are coming from other countries. What do I think the problem is…? Let me tell you.
Laziness
See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant. (Jeremiah 1:10)
I think most of the people who are born and went to school here are lazy and have to be pushed into taking a risk or stepping out to do something big. As this group of people have gone through the school system, they have been conditioned just to get a job and not push the status quo. God has gifted us with so much skills and His creative power is at work in us. There is no limit to what we can create if we just step out and have faith in God build up something new or to read down something old.
Fear
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7 KJV
People who have been living in a first world country their entire life have become very comfortable with a steady paycheque to the point that they are afraid to risk not getting one by stepping out and starting a new venture. The responsibility of life and the fact that a job and steady pay cheque every two weeks guarantees that they can support their families and lives makes them comfortable. These are the people who are glad it’s Friday and live for the weekend. I believe that you should thank God for everyday and live for now to do something great. It’s very difficult to step out from this comfort zone but when you do you will see that you have opened up more revenue streams and opportunities than you had before. Don’t be afraid. Step out and make it happen.
